Does anyone know what the statistics are for miscarriage with a second child?

I just found out that I am pregnant with my second. My hubby and I are afraid to tell people just yet for fear of a miscarriage. I have tried to look for statistics on 2nd pregnancy miscarriages but I cannot find any. Do you have any ideas? We would love to tell our families!

Thanks!

Does anyone know what the statistics are for miscarriage with a second child?
you have a higher % of everything being GREAT then you do of experiencing a loss in ANY pregnancy if it's the 1st or 8th. % do not go up of a miscarriage in a 2ed 3rd 4th 5th exc. IN ANY PREGNANCY you have about a 25 - 30% chance of a loss before 12 weeks. Miscarriage dose happen! it's not rare at all but, still odds are better of the pregnancy lasting then miscarrying. ODDS are 1 in 3 of having a loss. AND IT'S TRUE the chances go down to less then 10% after a heartbeat is heard that happens anywere from 6 to 8 weeks on ultersound.
Reply:So you dont say, do you already have a child or the 1st pregnancy was a miscarriage? So if you already had a miscarriage, the chances to have another are higher and the opposite if you had a live birth , your chances are lower.

I would wait until week 12 to tell anybody.

also I would start to worry if I had a second one.
Reply:Alot of it has to due with your age. The misscarraige rate goes up for women as they get older a 25 year old is much less likely to miscarry than a 35 year old. But i dont know what the percentage is. But i did read once that after you hear a heartbeat its less that a 10 percent chance.

Oh and Congrats to you and your husband!!
Reply:I would sit back and enjoy your pregnancy. I had a friend who had a miscarriage with her second child and got pregnant again a few months later and she now has a little bundle of joy with an absolutely perfect pregnancy. Don't forget that although it's very difficult to loose a child as it was part of you it wasn't in the necessary health and it may have had a very difficult life even with very loving parents. Just make sure you go to the doctor regularly and get all the necessary tests.

Good luck and Congratulations with your second :)!
Reply:My mum miscarried just after my now 15-year-old brother was born, and again last Christmas. We're all terrified because she found out last week she's preggers again. Though I'm convinced she's further along than she thinks, because she has a bump. usually she's really thin, but I noticed a big bump the other day where the baby is.

Sorry, just read that over. I didn't answer your question. I apologise, just ignore me.
Reply:did you have trouble last time ?if not what are you worrying about .when are you going to shear the news when peoople start thinking your fat.if you lose the child it would be good to have family to fall on tell them now
