What are the statistics on people who have one the lottery and then loose it all?

How many people loose everything once they won? What are the percentage of people who loose it all in the first 2 years?

What are the statistics on people who have one the lottery and then loose it all?
Nearly one-third of lottery winners become bankrupt.

“The CFP Board made an offer to the National Association of State and Provincial Lotteries to provide the organization's members with information to distribute to winners. The Investment News article highlighted the lack of financial guidance many winners receive from state lottery agencies; estimates show that nearly one-third of lottery winners become bankrupt.”

“Research shows that a significant number of lottery winners lose their winnings within five years, said Stephen Goldbart, a

psychologist and co- director of the Money, Meaning and Choices

Institute in Kentfield, which advices people who come into financial

windfalls.”

What are the statistics of which sells more, a single family house, or a town house.?

I've seen really nice town houses going for about $200,000, but I'm afraid to buy them cause I fear that we will have a hard time selling in the future when it's time to move on. Any suggestions as to what websites to look at or any good answers?

What are the statistics of which sells more, a single family house, or a town house.?
Most people prefer the single family detached ones. However if they can't afford that they start looking at town houses.

I have no idea where you live but I think you need to look at local sites for your area. Try ZIPREALTY which is a national chain that does local area websites.
Reply:Usually the single family dwelling is the best investment.

What are the statistics on alchohol related crime, in reference to weed related crime?

And why is it illegal to smoke weed, but not to drink alchohol.

What are the statistics on alchohol related crime, in reference to weed related crime?
Alcohol plays a huge part in crime. Domestic Violence, Assaults and Battery, DUI of course, and just plain drunk if public.

Weed, no, not to much. A few DUI's but most pot heads just lay there and try to decide what to do if they got up.

The marijuana laws tend to be arcane. One of the major forces to make it a Federal Crime was with the support of the alcohol lobby. In California, simple possession is punishable by a $100 fine. That's it.

Remember, in some counties around the country it is still illegal to drink. If you remember the Andy Griffith Show, the county he was sheriff was a dry county.
Reply:I seriously doubt alcohol plays a part in most crime. Your hardened criminals want to be thinking clearly, and they know alcohol impairs judgement.

As far as weed, the same principle applies, with an exception, many crimes are committed by people wanting to get money to buy drugs. This would figure to be a very large percentage.

The simple answer to why weed is illegal: the lawmakers decide that. Alcohol was actually illegal during prohibition, but the public was able to convice lawmakers to change that. The public has not had the same success with weed.
Reply:Economics!
Reply:Weekend crimes are 10 times higher than weekdays due to alcohol OR drugs.

Weed's illegal, because the courts can't prove an accident or death was caused by someone under the influence of it, but they can if alcohol's involved.

Christmas tree fire statistics versus other home fire causes?

In our building they prohibited natural trees this year as it is a fire hasard. I want to build the case for keeping them as my children are heart broken and I believe (without supporting data) that there are many other problems to focus on besides trees (especially if the tree is watered properly). Any links, articles, statistics would be appreciated.

Finally - is there any difference between real and artificial trees when it comes to flamability... I would think that the plastics in the artificial trees would be flamable also.

Christmas tree fire statistics versus other home fire causes?
That is so heartbreaking. How do your landlords sleep at night. That would seriously piss me off.

This site may help:

http://www.cdc.gov/ncipc/factsheets/fire...

I briefly skimmed it. I think if your building prohibited real trees, you should invest in a fake one. Lowe's had them on sale right now for $79. And no, they do not cause fires.. you can put them up anytime and take them down anytime and you won't have to worry about them getting fried. I hope your children don't have to go without a tree, best wishes and happy holidays.
Reply:I don't have the statistics on fires but do inow that many building codes prohibit cut live trees in areas of public assembly. Your Landlord therefore is on solid ground.

I prefer my artifical tree - the investment lasts for many years - it is non alergenic (fresh trees often have unseen but breathed molds in the dying branches) and I know that it is one less tree being cut down this year.
Reply:well i say that yes they both are flamable and that if real trees arent alound then neither should that artificial go to the buliding ower and tell him that but do not be mean about it.

Where to get Statistics for Missing Persons?

My groupmates and I are working on a project relating to missing persons. Weve tried getting info from NBI but all they have are the statistics of reported missing persons in their organization.

Where to get Statistics for Missing Persons?
some missing persons are reported to local police only and some not reported coz their families doesnt even kno their missing. hard to research these things. maybe the local radio or TV station can help coz some report missing persons to them.
Reply:you can get it also http ://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/missingpersons.h...
Reply:only NBI have the records...others are not reported...its hard to get those data...you may get it but not all of it...
