Opium and its derivatives like heroin are depressants, they numb your senses. Marijuana is a mild depressant. On the other hand Cocaine is a stimulant, it gives you energy, and makes you feel superhuman.

Legal opium is from India.....it is used to make morphine for medicines.
Stats for opium/heroin usage keep changing. Opium is consumed mostly in Afghanistan and Pakistan....heroin in Europe, Africa, and the US.
