Statistics that show expensive makeup is better than cheap ones?

i need to give a pursuassive speach and my topic is why expensive makeup is better that cheap ones. to have a good speach i need proof not just opinions. are there any sources or statistics that prove this? please any reputable source would be helpful. thanx!

I dont think you'll find a lot of hard facts on finding your info because honestly only SOME expensive makeup is truly better than the cheaper ones....for example the type that put in moisturizers or spf or special nutrients; but over half the time you're truly simply paying for the name and prestige.

i also like prestige eyeliner cheap but it works better to me then the stuff that cos like 10 dolars and i like cover girl aqua smooth for foundation expensice like 13 dollars but works good it depends really
Reply:more expensive make up has better quality than cheap ones. its said that cheap ones are more about quantity and expensive ones are about quality. which is right. i couldn't find any websites or statistics though.. sorry!
Reply:First you need to define the criteria of "better". That's a very vague word, do you mean longer lasting? Better pigmented? Less likely to cause breakouts? Easier to apply? If you define your criteria more specifically, you may not necessarily find statistics, but you'll find a good number of reviews or articles about drugstore vs. high end makeup. You could even do yout own tests, on how long it lasts, how bright the color is, etc. I would reccomend purchasing a drugstore eyeshadow and lipstick/gloss and high end ones in similar colors, and apply to your hand or face with and without a base and see how they hold up after 1 hr, 3 hrs, etc.

Reply:the more expensive ones are expensive because they put more color and whatever else in their product to not only make the makeup stay on your face longer but show up better because there is more pigment in the color. and cheaper makeup is what you pay for...cheap.
