How do I find statistics on public library closures ?

HI, I live in So OR and from what I heard last time we closed our public library, we were the first library in the US that was public that was ever closed. I want to gather some statistics to show how ridiculous it is to close our library. What a city !!! Ha. So, please not opinions, but I need statistics, any search ideas ?

Libraries are changing. The role of public libraries in today's world is being examined. Some may fall.

I think some kind of public space is needed. Some newspapers, internet terminals, etc.Whether they want a library service is up to each community.
Reply:One of the best sources for Library statistics is http://nces.ed.gov/surveys/lib... but this may be of limited use to you as it is mostly for comparative purposes. I'm not familiar with any place to find statistics on closures. Report Abuse
